Kurt Wittmeier and Amanda Mars

Like many great love stories, ours started when we weren't looking for it.

We met at a softball wind-up hosted by Kurt. We hit it off almost immediately, spending the evening talking and laughing until eventually we exchanged phone numbers. Over the next few months, Amanda often found herself thinking about that night and finally decided to invite Kurt to a Winnipeg Goldeyes game.

Unfortunately, he already had plans, but instead of simply saying no, he asked if he could take a rain cheque. A few days later, he reached out and invited Amanda to another game instead.

That first date was filled with great conversation, endless laughter, and getting to know each other. Long after the game had ended, neither of us was ready for the night to be over, so we wandered through The Forks, talking late into the evening. Looking back, neither of us realized that simple walk would become one of our favorite memories.

Somewhere along the way, we fell in love. Over the past nine years, we've built a life filled with adventure, whether it's trying new recipes together, spending a day fishing, or planning fun date nights.

In 2024, our greatest adventure began when we welcomed our beautiful daughter, Harriette. She has filled our lives with more love, laughter, and joy than we ever imagined.

Every great story deserves a perfect next chapter. One romantic evening, after another wonderful date, we found ourselves walking through The Forks once again—just like we had on our very first date. This time, though, Kurt got down on one knee and asked Amanda to marry him.

She said yes.

Now, we're so excited to celebrate this next chapter with all of the people we love most. Thank you for being here and for being part of our story.
